Baked, located near the center of Rutland, is a family run, from scratch establishment.

 

Elena Viapiano is the owner and pastry chef of Baked Bakery. Elena graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 2013 and made her way up to Montpelier, Vermont to attend The New England Culinary Institute where she graduated with a degree in Baking & Pastry in 2016. 

During life Elena was always surrounded by baking & cooking. From being in her great grandmothers kitchen to working side by side with her father at his restaurant. Elena found a passion for baking & the restaurant industry at a young age. During her high school years she enrolled in the Restaurant Management Program which lead her to earning a scholarship for college. In her college career she did 2 different interships where she expaned her career as a pastry chef.

At the age of 19 her father came to her about the idea of her taking over the family restaurant. At that point in her life she wanted the restaurant but didn’t want to give up her dream of being a pastry chef and owning her own bakery in the future.  And thats how Baked came about, adding a bakery to the restaurant was the perfect solution. She could do what she loved but also be able to take over the family restaurant within the coming years. In Feburary of 2016 is when Baked first opened & Elena’s crazy jouney began.

In 2019 Baked was able to a new location in the center of Rutland, about 10 minutes from the old location. Elena was able to expand her business and menu with moving. Check us out we now offer breakfast, smoothies, açaí bowls & much more.

 

 

I absolutely love what I do everyday, a lot of tears & sleepless nights goes into what I do. I have a great support system behind me that I can lean on. I’m an open book, so if you ever see me at the bakery please come say hi. I love to meet all of my customers, each one of you is what makes each day worth it.

Katie Chioda - Pastry Chef & Owner

Katie started working for Baked back in 2016 when we first opened. She started doing a lot of our baking including breads, cookies, pies and much more.

She now has recently taken on doing our custom sugar cookie orders. Her attention to detail and flavors makes for amazing products she makes.

Katie & Elena work closely together to make all of your specialty baked goods as well as your custom orders.

Katie is truly an asset to Baked and even though works behind the scenes, we wouldn't be able to do it without her.
